Chopan Schwabing in Munich

The food there was delicious, like last time. However, our request to have spinach with a dish was met with uncompromising and uncompromising reactions. Instead, we felt bothersome and like we didn't appreciate Afghan cuisine. It's a shame, the last time at Chopan, because this service is not worth the money.

Chopan is our absolute favorite restaurant in Munich. The Maschaua (soup) is incredibly delicious, but all the other dishes are also incredibly well seasoned and incredibly tasty. 100% recommend !!!

Fantastic food, very personable service

As Afghans we usually prefer home made food but since we were in Munich and desiring afghan food we decided to give it a try without having big expectations. When we arrived the restaurant was very crowded, so we had to wait, since we had no reservation. The place is very small but cozy and it worth a visit! The food was just amazing. It absolutely EXCEEDED our expectations. Very delicious, fast in serving, very kind. We can't wait to go back ! Tashakor

Very tasty Afghan food. Especially the different rice options, e.g. Orange peel, pistachios or carrots are particularly good. We had to wait a long time for the food, but the restaurant was also pretty full. The wait was definitely worth it!

when we studied at the institute we had friends, Afghan students. It was interesting to try their forge professionally. My husband and I really liked everything we ordered. The owner of the establishment was very friendly. The restaurant was full, although it is located in a neighborhood with a lot of restaurants (that says a lot). We will definitely come back next time. Afghan Cuisine ? It was one of the most delicious and unusual places in our last trips! In reality, you can only take hot ones, because it's pretty big. I took soup and hot, hot to the end did not master. Friendly, charming and delicious! Best service I have experienced in Munich. An authentic owner and staff with a passion for the restaurant and guests. The food was great and we got very helpful advice on choosing the best dishes for us as newcomers to Afghan cuisine. Highly recommend!

Very tasty food and friendly staff. There were three of us and we were all very satisfied. One point deduction because the vegetarian rice dishes are sometimes only a few euros cheaper than meat dishes.

First of all, the food is fantastic, 6/5 stars for that. However, out of three times I ate there, I didn't even get the right order. The first time I was there, it was completely forgotten and I had to choose a new dish that was quick to eat with my friends. The second and third time, instead of the pumpkin, the eggplant was delivered, although the third time I kindly asked to check that the order was correct. I'm sorry, but the third time in a row it's really annoying.

A good place to eat while visiting Munich. The food was delicious, the food more than enough and the place was cozy. The waitress was very kind and explained to us different aspects of the dish. For tourist, pay attention to the fact that this place only accept cash as payment.

The food is good and tasty. The personnel is kind. They take long to bring the food, but I think their kitchen is too small. The prices are a bit high but the served amount is ok. It is good located and you can make online reservation

Been living in Munich for six years, never had better food in a restaurant so far. Good vegetarian options as well, and some vegan ones too.

It's such an amazing place! The manager managed to offer us a table even though we couldn't manage to get a reservation from before ( no doubt the place is so famous that it's always fully reserved). The food was excellent and I never ate so tasty rice before being an indian. The service was very friendly! Highly recommend and I will come here over and over again for sure! Thank you Chopan! <3

One of my favourite causal restaurants in Munich. For those who have never tried Afghan food, Chopan is a superb introduction to the cuisine - which combines Middle Eastern and Indian influences into a flavour packed feast. Prices are reasonable and the food is fantastic. Only caveat I’d have is to stay away from the cocktails - they are made rather poorly and aren’t cheap either. However, there are plenty of bars around the area and let’s face it, you’re here for the food, not the drinks.

We have just ordered food here & I haven't finished my portion yet, but I have to tell you how delicious it was. The portions are very generous, the herbs super fresh, the flatbread was even warm when it was delivered. The taste of all 4 dishes (we ordered to share) was incomparable. All dishes were perfectly balanced between sour, sweet, spicy ... All in all, a taste surprise with complex, perfectly seasoned dishes. Can't wait for the next time!

We ate here 2 days ago. We had the safron tjalaw, do piaza and boroni banjan. Our defininte favorite was the barani banjan. The food in combination with the staff ia just unbeatable. They were really kind and helpful. Price is very reasonable for what you get. We spent around 40 euros for 2 people, 3 meals and drinks. If you are in the neighbourhood, just try it out. You won't be disappointed .

We followed TripAdvisor's recommendation and were not disappointed. Without a reservation it will be difficult to get a seat and recommend to take a table outside. The service was very good and advises if necessary. The food was very tasty and the portions large, the price-performance ratio is great! Even as a vegetarian there is a large selection and delicious dishes.

Incredibly delicious food, great hospitality, an absolute highlight when you visit Munich. Always my pleasure. We're looking forward to next time.

Really a culinary highlight! Great shop, cool team with great service, delicious drinks and really, really great food. Both vegetarian and classic lots of choice and delicious pre-prices. Plus fair prices, we will definitely be back.

Great place with really special dishes. Delivery is fast and friendly and the food is super good to deliver, it doesn't suffer at all from the transport. Make sure to order from their website, not via e.g. Lieferando to support the restaurant.

Delicious!!!! Food is absolutely marvelous. So happy that they now offer a delivery service. Place is quit small and you really need to book quit a bit in advance, but food is definitely worth it!

Food is delicious.However disappointed on their arrangements amidst Corona chaos. I was there 2 days ago, and the mode of payment is still cash,even when even small bakeries all around Munich have gone cashless. In order to avoid contact as much as possible, cash is not the way to go.

Extremely delicious Afghani food. Had two different lamb dishes, both very light and fresh. We are looking forward to exploring more of the menu. Got delivery, food came fast, hot and both with rice.

We ordered food at home on Lieferando and it was much better than we expected. By far the best meal we had delivered to home! The food arrived warm and the waiting time was shorter than the app had announced, 25 minutes tops. The packaging was neat and nothing spilled. The prices were more than reasonable for the amazing quality we got. All of the dishes were delicious, moderately spicy and full of flavour, with barely any grease to be found. The yoghurt sauces were amazing with the starters and the herbs were really fresh. Definitely worth a visit in person next time we’re having dinner out! Also great for whenever we don’t feel like cooking and want to order something at home!

It’s so wow

My wife and I visited Chopan Schwabing for dinner during a weekend trip to Munich. This was our first time trying Afghan cuisine and it was two of the best meals we’ve eaten. The owner was kind enough to accommodate us, offer excellent recommendations, and made our visit to Munich even more memorable. Chopan Schwabing is #1 in Munich for a reason and we would highly recommend a visit. Thank you!

The food was great, I think a bit overpriced but it is München so... Definitely book upfront!

My girlfriend and me just loved it! We went there without booking a table and we were lucky. But I highly recommend to book before that's a hot spot. The waiters are friendly and fast however because of the long waiting time for the food I just give 4 stars. Nethertheless, the food was just delicious.

Great food and a warm and friendly atmosphere. They did get my order wrong but the food was great so i didn't make a fuss.

This is a fantastic location worth every visit. We had fantastic dishes and we will definitively come back again. Make sure to reserve upfront, as it is always heavily booked.

Excellent food, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. A real gem in the Occamstrasse in Munich. For spinach fans try the side dish, an absolute must.

They made us sit in the corner. Uncomfortable and next to the entrance. Even if the food was tasty, it's still quite pricey and the wait was approx 30 min. They don't accept cards.

Terrific straight forward afghani food which was delicious. Pleasant staff and very warm young owner who is of course fluent in English so ordering is a breeze. The chicken kabobs were done to perfection and still moist and tender. A real find in the neighborhood. We will go back before we head back to the states. Also try their dirty or fried rice. I would recommend reservations because it is a small place.
